Welcome to the Circular Economy Park Open Day

Together with all the project partners, we are organizing an open day at the Pyhäntä Circular Economy Park on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 11:00 to 15:00 at Puhdistamontie, Pyhäntä. As the project nears completion, we want to celebrate its successful progress by welcoming everyone to this open event at the circular economy park.

Join us for an enjoyable day to meet the project’s key persons and to learn more about the wastewater pretreatment facility and the biogas plant complex. At the event, you can see Syrjäpalo Oy’s tanker truck, which is used to transport agricultural and industrial biomass. During the open day, you will hear about the project’s origins, permitting processes, construction phases, and its impacts on the environment and the vitality of the municipality.

With funding from the Ministry of the Environment’s nutrient recycling program, the circular economy park project by the Municipality of Pyhäntä and Latvaenergia Oy is now in its final stages. The total project budget is approximately 8.5 million euros. Demeca has supplied the biogas plant complex, and Owatec the wastewater pretreatment facility. The project has implemented a comprehensive solution where a pretreatment facility for food industry wastewater has been built, and the sludge from treatment is directed to the biogas plant, which also processes other food industry side streams and agricultural biomass. The biogas plant complex produces biogas, which is upgraded for industrial use. A detailed program for the open day and arrival instructions can be found below.

Organizers in yellow vests will assist you during the event.

Parking is available at the end of Puhdistamontie, from where there is a short walk to the facility area. Traffic guidance will be provided on site.

Soup and coffee will be served during the open day.
