Biokaasuauto I Edullista ja helppoa ajamista
Outi Lehtonen drives cheaply on biogas and likes to fill up with clean and locally produced biogas at the local station.
Biogas driving aroused Outi’s interest, as he drives a lot of cars in his work as a veterinarian and in his free time the road transports his family around Finland in pursuit of his skiing hobby. Outi says that with biogas, she saves a large amount compared to a petrol car. Outi started looking at cars about two years ago on the auction website, where she quickly found a suitable car. Outi says that later an additional gas tank was installed in the car, thanks to which the car can drive about 450 kilometres. Acquaintances and strangers think that driving a gas car and maintenance are difficult and expensive, but Outi says that driving with biogas is easy and there are plenty of filling stations all over Finland. Outi follows the arrival of new stations diligently and checks the nearest stations on her mobile phone from the Tankille application.
In just over two years, Outi has accumulated about 100,000 kilometres on the car’s meter. He says that he likes to leave the refueling money in the locality and can easily rush to the tank after a shopping trip. ”Refueling is never fun, but it’s nicer when you get money cheaply and with clean kilometres without forgetting the vitality of the locality!” Outi rejoices. In Outi’s opinion, driving with biogas is a small person’s climate act, and he is very right about it. The transport use of biogas can reduce up to 90% of transport emissions throughout its life cycle. Outi says that she only drives 5-10% of all kilometres driven by car on petrol. Outi has been looking at cars and even new car fever rears its head from time to time. He hopes that car dealers will invest more in the supply of gas cars and become more familiar with their operations. Gas car drivers are well aware and often know better about the features of cars than car dealers.
If you are considering a gas car, you should join the Gas in the tank Facebook group and read more about the features and maintenance of the cars in the channel. The nearest Demeca biogas filling stations are located in Haapavesi, Toholammi and next year in Raudaskylä in Ylivieska. If you want to save money on driving, you should choose a gas car, as it saves up to 30-40% of the costs of driving compared to a petrol car. Outi says that her Mercedes-Benz consumes 4.5-5 kilograms of gas per hundred kilometres, depending on driving style and the weather. Gas prices range from 1.6 to 2.0 euros. Outi fills up the car and uses about 25 kilos of gas, which she can happily drive to work and do hobbies with her family. Outi encourages locals to fill up with local and affordable gas.
A small person’s climate action is also a step towards a better tomorrow and a more vibrant countryside.
